Restaurant Manager

BS Siargao is a new restaurant to the island which will be serving an all day brunch style menu. We’re focused on delivering really good food, drinks and tunes. At BS we’re taking international brunch classics and giving it an island twist by making sure we source our ingredients locally as much as possible. The objective is to do things that we find cool and interesting and serve that up to our guests.


BS is run by three partners. Sebastian, Pilar and Rafael. Sebastian is an experienced chef from Europe. Pilar is an experienced business woman coming from NIKE. Rafael has years of resort management under his belt. We’re a young team of professionals looking to leave our mark on the island by creating one of the coolest new restaurants on the island.


Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our brunch restaurant in Siargao. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in restaurant management and a passion for providing excellent customer service. The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for managing the restaurant’s staff, ensuring the highest standards of food and service, and maintaining a positive and welcoming environment for our customers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
  • Hire, train, and manage the restaurant staff, ensuring that they are knowledgeable about the menu, service standards, and restaurant policies.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ordering supplies to ensure that the restaurant has the necessary ingredients and equipment to operate effectively.
  • Work closely with the chef to develop and implement new menu items and specials.
  • Ensure that the restaurant complies with health and safety regulations, including maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards.
  • Handle customer complaints and ensure that they are resolved promptly and to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • Oversee the restaurant’s finances, including tracking revenue and expenses, preparing financial reports, and managing the restaurant’s budget.
  • Develop and implement marketing and promotional activities to attract new customers and retain existing ones. 


Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in restaurant management.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations, including food and beverage service, inventory management, and health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Waiter

Overview:
We are looking for young and vibrant team members who can bring a cool energy and vibe to our establishment. The ideal candidates should possess a strong work ethic, a passion for providing exceptional customer service, and a desire to learn and grow with us.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service: Greet guests warmly, guide them to their tables, and assist them with menu selections. Ensure that guests’ needs are met throughout their dining experience and respond promptly to any inquiries or concerns.
  • Take and process orders: Accurately record guests’ orders, paying attention to any special requests or dietary restrictions. Communicate orders promptly to the kitchen and ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to the tables.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace: Set up tables with appropriate utensils, glassware, and linens. Maintain cleanliness in the dining area, including sweeping and mopping floors, and ensuring restrooms are well-stocked and tidy.
  • Collaborate with the team: Work closely with other wait staff, kitchen staff, and management to ensure efficient operation and smooth flow of service. Communicate effectively with colleagues to relay information about guest preferences, special requests, and any issues that may arise.
  • Handle payments: Present bills to guests, process payments accurately, and return change or receipts promptly. Handle cash and credit card transactions securely and follow established procedures for cash handling.
  • Uphold health and safety standards: Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations. Ensure proper handling, storage, and serving of food and beverages. Maintain a safe and clean environment for both guests and fellow team members.

 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a waiter/waitress is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Basic math skills for handling payments and billing.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating delicious and innovative dishes using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. The Head Chef will be working closely with Sebastian, our Executive Chef to develop and execute the menu, managing the kitchen staff, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and taste.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute a menu that reflects the restaurant’s concept and vision, using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients together with the Executive Chef and owner.
  • Develop and test new brunch dishes and specials, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of taste, presentation, and quality.
  • Manage the kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling.
  • Monitor food inventory levels and order supplies to ensure that the kitchen has the necessary ingredients and equipment to operate effectively.
  • Ensure that the kitchen meets health and safety regulations, including maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards.
  • Work closely with the Restaurant Manager to maintain a positive and welcoming environment for our customers.
  • Oversee the kitchen’s finances, including tracking food costs and managing the kitchen’s budget.
  • Continuously research new cooking techniques, ingredients, and trends to stay up-to-date with the latest culinary developments.

 

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Head Chef, with a proven track record of creating innovative and delicious dishes.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques and ingredients, with a passion for creating new dishes and experimenting with flavors.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

  • A degree or certification in culinary arts is preferred.

As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for managing a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring that food is prepared to the highest standards and that the kitchen operates efficiently.
